The Colorado Department of Transportation announced on April 6 that both eastbound and westbound lanes of US Highway 50B will be closed at the Interstate 25/US 50B Interchange in Pueblo as part of ongoing construction work. The closures are scheduled to occur separately between April 9 and April 11, with detours in place to redirect traffic.
The temporary closures are intended to allow crews to shift traffic south on US 50B, advancing work on the interchange project. According to CDOT, these measures are necessary for public safety and will result in traffic being reduced to one lane in each direction once the shifts are complete.
Eastbound US 50B will be closed from I-25 to Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard starting at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 through Friday morning, April 10. During this time, there will be no access from northbound I-25 onto eastbound US 50B; drivers are advised to use CO Highway 47 as a detour. Westbound US 50B will then close from Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard to I-25 from Friday evening through Saturday evening, with similar detour instructions for affected motorists.
