The Colorado women’s basketball team announced on April 14 that sophomore forward Kira Reynolds will join the program as a transfer from UT Arlington for the 2026-27 season.

Reynolds played in all 33 games for UT Arlington during the 2025-26 season, starting in a team-high 27 contests. She averaged 13.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, and led her team with totals of 430 points, 260 rebounds, and 78 blocks. Her performance earned her four Western Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week honors and a spot on the All-WAC Freshman Team.

“Kira is a dynamic playmaker who brings toughness, competitiveness, and a high basketball IQ to our program,” head coach JR Payne said. “She has a great feel for the game and the ability to impact both ends of the floor. What really stands out is her motor and her ability to score both inside and out. We’re excited about the energy and toughness she’ll bring to our group.”

Reynolds reached double-digit points in 21 games last season, recorded eight double-doubles, scored at least twenty points seven times, and had nine games with double-digit rebounds. She shot over forty-five percent from the field overall.

A graduate of South Bend Washington High School in Indiana, Reynolds was recognized as a four-star recruit by ESPN HoopGurlz and ranked among top players nationally by recruiting services for her class year. During her senior high school season she averaged nearly fifteen points per game along with significant contributions in rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals.

The Buffaloes also announced several returning players amid ongoing roster changes during transfer portal season: Zyanna Walker, Jade Crook, Kennedy Sanders, Maeve McErlane, Sophie Zadel, and Claire O’Connor will return next year.

Colorado finished its most recent campaign with an appearance in its seventeenth NCAA Tournament but fell to Illinois in the first round after finishing sixth in Big Twelve conference play.
