The Colorado Buffaloes men’s golf team will begin play at the Bryan Regional of the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas on May 18. The event will run through May 20.
The regional marks an important opportunity for Colorado, which enters postseason play ranked No. 54 nationally in the Clippd/Scoreboard team rankings. The Buffaloes face a strong field that includes several top-ranked teams such as Texas, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
Colorado earned the No. 9 seed in the regional, as announced by the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee on May 6. The team’s head coach Roy Edwards said, “We only worry about ourselves. It is pretty simple at the regional, you play well and you should be in the mix to advance. It’s very important to really focus on the task at hand and just play your normal game and see how it works out at the end.” Edwards also announced that senior Hunter Swanson, juniors Brandon Knight and Ty Holbrook, sophomore Parker Paxton, and graduate student Jackson Rivera would make up Colorado’s lineup for regionals with freshman Tyler Long serving as alternate.
“These guys are for sure ready and should be very excited to have this opportunity,” Edwards said. “Coach Tolan and I are very confident in our six guys that are here.” Swanson leads Colorado with a stroke average of 70.47 this season along with seven top-20 finishes while Knight has posted a team-high number of birdies and eagles.
The Bryan Regional consists of three rounds totaling 54 holes; from each site five teams plus one individual not on an advancing team will qualify for championship finals scheduled for late May through early June at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
Colorado is among twelve Big 12 Conference programs selected for NCAA Regionals this year. The Buffaloes had their practice round Sunday before opening competition Monday.
