During the recent $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot run, Colorado did not have a winner for the top prize, but the state still saw significant gains from lottery activity. From June 1 through September 6, Colorado Lottery awarded $23 million in prizes to players. Twenty-two individuals won amounts ranging from $50,000 to $2 million during this period.

Retailers across Colorado also benefited, earning nearly $3 million in commissions from Powerball ticket sales. The lottery proceeds contributed $14.5 million to various community projects, supporting parks, trails, open space, wildlife conservation, outdoor accessibility initiatives, and school infrastructure throughout the state.

Winners on September 6 included a $1,000,004 ticket sold at Kum and Go Maverick in Colorado Springs; a $50,008 ticket at King Soopers in Parker; three $100,000 tickets sold at Loaf & Jug in Dinosaur, Kum & Go Maverick in Brighton, and Sherman Food & Gas in Fort Morgan; another $100,007 winner at A-1 Food & Gas in Aurora; and a $50,000 winner at Banana Belt Liquors in Woodland Park.

Earlier drawings saw multiple high-value winners as well. On September 3 alone there were two winners of $100,000 and two of $50,000 with tickets purchased at locations including King Soopers stores in Arvada and Castle Rock and Harts Gas and Food in Estes Park. On August 30 a player won $2 million with a ticket bought at King Soopers in Parker.

According to the Colorado Lottery, proceeds are used to support outdoor recreation spaces and education infrastructure across the state.
