The Colorado Lottery announced on Apr. 3 that its new Millionaire for Life game has seen more than 91,000 players win a total of $1,123,363 since its launch on February 22.

The popularity of the game is notable as it offers players a chance at substantial prizes and has already resulted in significant winnings across the state.

According to the Colorado Lottery, while no player has yet claimed the top prize of $1 million a year for life or the second prize of $100,000 a year for life, eight players have each won the third-prize amount of $7,500. The lottery said that winnings begin when players match just two numbers out of nine possible prize levels.

The structure of Millionaire for Life includes selecting five numbers from a pool of 58 and an additional number called the Millionaire Ball from a separate pool of five. Each play costs $5. The overall odds are set at one in 8.46 to win any prize and about one in 22.9 million to win the top annual payout.

Officials said that even after someone wins the grand prize, it will remain available to be won again each subsequent day.
