The Colorado Rapids will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park on April 29, according to an announcement by U.S. Soccer. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., with coverage available on CBS Sports Network, Paramount+, Altitude Radio, ColoradoRapids.com, and the Colorado Rapids App.

This matchup is part of the ongoing national tournament that brings together teams from different leagues across American soccer. The event gives clubs like the Rapids and Switchbacks a chance to compete for a prestigious trophy and earn recognition beyond their regular league play.

The Rapids reached this stage after securing a narrow 1-0 win over USL League One side Union Omaha. Dante Sealy scored the decisive goal for Colorado, whose strong defensive showing helped secure their advancement.

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC earned their place in the Round of 16 following a convincing 3-0 victory against Sporting Kansas City on the road. Goals were provided by Juan Tejada, Sadam Masereka, and Khori Bennett. Before this win, they defeated Spokane Velocity FC and Azteca FC earlier in the tournament.
