At recent roundtable events in Fowler and Monument, small business owners from Colorado gathered with state lawmakers to discuss issues affecting their operations and the upcoming 2025 Legislative Session. The meetings were organized by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Colorado and led by State Director Michael Smith.

In Fowler, attendees met with Assistant Minority Leader Representative Ty Winter, while in Monument, House Republican Leader Jarvis Caldwell was present. These gatherings provided a platform for local business owners to engage directly with elected officials and each other.

Michael Smith commented on the importance of such discussions, stating: “It’s always great to hear directly from our members. Anti-small business proposals coming out of the Legislature continue to pose a serious challenge to Main Street Coloradans. During these discussions, we talked about solutions we can urge lawmakers to take up in the next session, and ways for our small business owner members to make their voices heard in Denver.”

The NFIB encourages those who missed the event to contact Grassroots Manager Kylie Barber at kylie.barber@nfib.org for opportunities to get involved.
