Colorado Springs officials announced on May 14 that Bike to Work Day will take place on Wednesday, June 24, encouraging residents to participate in a citywide celebration of cycling and community engagement.

The event aims to promote active transportation, healthy living, and environmental benefits by inviting residents to commute by bicycle. Organizers highlight that cycling offers a cost-effective travel option while supporting cleaner air throughout the region.

On Bike to Work Day, bike commuters can receive a free breakfast at various stations located along the city’s bike infrastructure and trail system as well as at participating local businesses. A citywide map showing all breakfast station locations is available on the City website for riders planning their routes and stops.

In preparation for the event, local businesses and community partners will host advance clinics covering topics such as preparing your body for riding, wayfinding tips, safe riding practices, selecting and fitting bicycles properly, and basic maintenance checks. These clinics are designed both for first-time riders and those returning after time away from cycling.

Businesses or organizations interested in supporting Bike to Work Day can become corporate champions or sign up as breakfast station hosts. Each breakfast station agrees to provide complimentary meals for up to 100 cyclists on a first-come, first-served basis. The City will supply posters, stickers, wayfinding signage, and limited-edition gear for staff at these stations while supplies last.

Residents can learn more about the event details—including how to prepare or sign up as supporters—by visiting ColoradoSprings.gov/BikeToWork.
