The Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition set a new sales record during its 2025 run, selling 67 pieces of art and generating $14,737 in sales. This surpassed the previous record from 2023, when 57 pieces were sold for $9,378.
“While agriculture is at its heart, we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the incredible artistry in our Fine Arts Exhibition,” said Colorado State Fair General Manager Andrea Wiesenmeyer. “The Colorado State Fair is a true reflection of our state’s diverse talents that span so many categories, including impressive crafts, captivating photography, delicious pantry items, and so much more that our community has to offer. It’s a place where every Coloradan can find something to inspire and enjoy.”
The exhibition began with a free public art reception on Thursday evening before the fair opened Friday morning. This event allowed art enthusiasts and potential buyers an early look at the collection and gave entrants their first chance to learn how their work was received.
“I’m thrilled to have a venue where my artwork can be seen, purchased and enjoyed by the public! I’m still over the moon about my win and to then sell the piece? It was icing on the cake!” said Kelly Hannah, who won Best of Show in the Emerging Artist division.
Hannah’s artwork “The Virgin Queen” earned multiple honors: Best of Show in the Emerging Art Division, First Place in the Emerging Artist Division – Mixed Media Category, and a Juror’s Choice Award. The exhibition supports artists by giving them exposure and sales opportunities while offering visitors access to varied local art.
This year’s show featured 742 entries from 214 emerging and professional artists across different skill levels.
The Colorado State Fair is held annually in Pueblo, Colorado. It aims to provide an entertaining and educational experience that highlights agriculture, industry, and culture across generations.
