Colorado track and field concluded its participation on May 17 at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with three athletes reaching the podium. The final day of competition was highlighted by Danny Tragarz’s second-place finish in the men’s 400-meter hurdles.

Tragarz ran a time of 49.84 seconds in the men’s 400-meter hurdles, matching his personal best for an altitude race to secure a runner-up position in what was described as a hard-fought event.

In other results, Avery Pearson finished seventh in the women’s 800 meters with a time of 2:06.79 during a closely contested championship final. James Overberg added to Colorado’s medal tally by placing eighth in the men’s 5000 meters, finishing with a time of 13:56.58.

Freshman Holly Barker also competed for Colorado, finishing thirteenth overall in the women’s 5000 meters with a time of 16:42.48.

Tragarz, Pearson, Overberg and several other members of the team are scheduled to compete at the NCAA West Regional starting May 27. More information about schedules and results can be found at CUBuffs.com.
