The Colorado women’s basketball team announced on April 18 the signing of graduate student forward Anete Adler, a transfer from Boston University, to join its squad for the 2026-27 season.

Adler brings notable experience and accomplishments to Colorado. She was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team, All-Defensive Team, and Academic All-Patriot League Team during her time at Boston University. In her most recent season, she started in 26 of her 27 appearances and led her team with career-high averages of 15.4 points and six rebounds per game. She also recorded a .500 field goal percentage and finished first in blocks within the Patriot League.

“We’re excited to add Anete to our program,” head coach JR Payne said. “She brings a tremendous amount of experience and a strong presence in the post. She has a versatile skill set that allows her to impact the game in multiple ways, and I know that she will be a great fit here at CU.”

Before joining Boston University, Adler played as a freshman at Rhode Island before transferring ahead of the 2023-24 season. Internationally, she represented Estonia in FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship Division B play and contributed significantly during Estonia-NKML’s championship run in the 2020-21 season where she earned MVP honors.

Adler has also participated in development programs such as the NBA Academy Program and its Women’s Virtual Program for top international high school athletes.

Earlier this week, Colorado announced four other transfers—Aniya’ Foy, Brooke Walker, Mecailin Marshall, and Kira Reynolds—and confirmed several returning players for next year’s roster. The Buffs recently completed their season with an NCAA Tournament appearance after finishing sixth in the Big 12 conference.
