A Denver resident, Avian Mayo, 25, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on 21 counts that include postal robbery, use of a firearm during a violent crime, bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft. The indictment alleges that on March 4, 2024, Mayo, together with Brisa Sierra-Silva and Christopher Johnson—who face charges in a separate federal case—attempted to rob one postal carrier and later robbed another the same day.

Sierra-Silva and Johnson were indicted and appeared in court in spring 2025. All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the FBI Denver Field Office. Assistant United States Attorney Albert Buchman is prosecuting the case.
