The University of Denver men’s tennis team, ranked No. 71, clinched the 2026 Summit League regular-season title after a 6-1 victory against Drake on April 17. The win gives Denver its seventh consecutive and eleventh overall league regular-season championship.

This achievement is significant as it extends the Pioneers’ unbeaten streak in Summit League play to 39 matches. The team has not lost a regular-season league match since February 18, 2018, and will conclude its final season in the conference with a match at Omaha on Sunday.

In doubles action, Denver regained momentum after losing its previous doubles point for the first time in over a month. Senior Ryoma Mishiro and sophomore Samuel Rovai won their match at No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-3. Graduate student Connor Robb-Wilcox and sophomore Theo Coats also secured a win at No.1 doubles by the same margin, giving Denver an early lead.

During singles play, freshman Aaron Beduhn earned his best dual-match result so far by winning at No.6 singles while only dropping three games overall. Senior Raffaello Papajcik extended his singles winning streak to seven matches with two straight sets of 6-2 each. Robb-Wilcox delivered the clinching point for Denver after overcoming an initial deficit to take his match in straight sets.

Sophomore Samuel Rovai picked up his tenth win at No.2 singles this season, while Coats came back from losing the first set to secure another victory for Denver in a deciding tiebreaker.

Looking ahead, Denver will finish its regular season against Omaha on Sunday before preparing for postseason competition.
