The University of Denver men’s tennis team, ranked No. 71, earned a 7-0 victory over Omaha on April 19 to conclude its regular season.

This win marks the team’s eighth consecutive victory and fifth sweep of the season, three of which were in Summit League play. The result comes after Denver secured the Summit League regular season title earlier in the weekend.

In doubles play, Denver captured the point with wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 courts. Senior Raffaello Papajcik and freshman Aaron Beduhn posted a decisive 6-2 win, while senior Ryoma Mishiro and sophomore Samuel Rovai clinched the point with a break in the final game. The top doubles match was left unfinished after Denver’s Connor Robb-Wilcox and Theo Coats leveled at five games each.

Singles matches saw four contests go to three sets, but all six were won by Denver players. Coats dropped just one game per set for his second win of the weekend. Rovai fought through a tiebreak in his first set before winning his second set without losing a game. Beduhn clinched the dual with two dominant sets sandwiching a second-set loss. Papajcik prevailed in three sets at No.1 singles, while Mishiro came back from a set down against his former team to secure another point for Denver. Robb-Wilcox finished off the sweep with two breaks in his third set.

Looking ahead, Denver will be seeded No.1 at the upcoming Summit League Men’s Tennis Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma, facing Illinois State on Friday, April 24.
