The University of Denver men’s tennis team will play at Texas Christian University for the opening round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship, according to an April 27 announcement from the NCAA.

This matchup places Denver, ranked No. 71 nationally and seeded fourth in its region, against TCU, which holds the No. 6 national seed and is top-seeded in its regional bracket. The match is scheduled for Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m. Central Time (4 p.m. Mountain Time).

Denver secured an automatic spot in this year’s tournament by winning the Summit League championship for a third consecutive time and eighth overall. This season marks Denver’s final year as a member of the Summit League before joining the West Coast Conference on July 1.

This appearance will be Denver’s third straight trip to the NCAA tournament and its eleventh overall. Last season, Denver faced Arizona—then seeded tenth—in the first round but was defeated by the host team.

Further details about the Fort Worth Regional hosted by TCU are expected to be released soon.
