Beverly P. of Denver won $1,000 playing the Loteria Grande Scratch game after buying her ticket at QuikTrip, located at 5201 W. Mississippi Ave. in Lakewood, according to a March 22 announcement.

The win is notable as Beverly has been a lottery player for three decades and said she plays when she has extra money available. This recent prize marks her first significant win.

When asked about her reaction upon discovering the win, Beverly said simply: “WOW.”

She is still considering how she will use the $1,000 prize.

Lottery officials congratulated Beverly on her unexpected win.
