The University of Denver women’s golf team finished in eighth place at the Boilermaker Spring Classic in West Lafayette, Indiana, on April 13. The team posted a score of 51-over par during their final regular-season tournament.
This result comes as the Pioneers prepare for their last Summit League tournament later this month. Illinois claimed its second consecutive team victory at the event with a total score of 6-over par. Purdue followed in second place at 9-over, and Princeton took third with a score of 27-over. Isabella McCauley from Minnesota won the individual title by finishing four strokes under par, while Lauren Timpf from Purdue and Cherry Marley from USF rounded out the top three finishers as the only other golfers to finish under par.
Among Denver’s golfers, Raegan Capizzi led her teammates by finishing tied for sixteenth with rounds of 72, 75, and 76 for a total score of 223. Maren Farbu finished tied for nineteenth (224), Anna Neumayer was thirtieth (229), Logan Hale and Kaitlin Zingler both tied for fifty-sixth (234), and Holly Hamilton placed sixty-seventh (238).
The Pioneers will next compete in Phoenix, Arizona, from April 26 to April 28 as they pursue their seventh-straight Summit League tournament title.
