The University of Denver women’s golf team moved into second place after shooting three-over in the second round of the National Golf Invitational on May 16. The event, held in Maricopa, Arizona, saw Wyoming leading at par, with Denver trailing at 13-over and Rutgers following in third place at 22-over.
This performance places the Pioneers within reach of the top spot as they prepare for the final round. The team’s scores after two rounds include Kaitlin Zingler tied for sixth at one-over (73-72), Anna Neumayer tied for eighth at two-over (74-72), Raegan Capizzi tied for tenth at three-over (74-73), and Logan Hale tied for forty-ninth at seven-over (77-74). Holly Hamilton participated as a substitute and shot six-over with a score of 78.
The final round is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. Mountain Time. The team will look to close the gap with Wyoming and maintain their position ahead of Rutgers.
