The University of Denver women’s tennis team won the 2026 Summit League Women’s Tennis Championship with a 4-0 victory over North Dakota at Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on April 25.

This win marks Denver’s twelfth consecutive Summit League tournament title and comes in its final season as a member of the league. The team will move to the West Coast Conference on July 1, 2026.

Since joining the Summit League in the 2013-14 season, Denver has not lost a match against any league opponent. The Pioneers finished with an undefeated record of 71-0 in regular-season matches and went 24-0 in tournament play during their time in the conference.

In doubles action, Claudia Martinez de Velasco and Louise Wikander earned a win at No. 2 doubles with a five-game streak. Marley Lambert and Yunfei Cai secured another victory at No. 1 doubles after building an early lead. Zoe Adkins and Natálie Cinková were tied when their match was left unfinished due to clinching conditions.

In singles competition, Martinez de Velasco started off with a dominant performance at No. 6 singles, followed by Adkins winning her match from the No. 4 slot. Wikander clinched the championship for Denver with her second dual-clinching point this season after overcoming a late rally from her opponent.

With this championship win, Denver earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship and will await its official selection during the NCAA Selection Show scheduled for Monday, April 27.
