FOIA Request to Arapahoe Community College regarding public university FY 2024 employee salaries on December 5, 2025.
Centennial State News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Arapahoe Community College. The request seeks detailed records of employee compensation for all individuals employed by the university during Fiscal Year 2024. This request is made under the Colorado Open Records Act § 24-72-201 et seq., with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format.
The requested records should include data fields such as fiscal year, employee name, gender, age or year of birth, date of birth, employer name, title or position, department, hire date, compensation amount (including base pay and any additional pay), compensation type (e.g., salary, hourly, stipend, bonus), and employment type (full-time or part-time). Centennial State News acknowledges that not all fields may be present in every record but requests the production of all responsive records regardless. In cases where parts of a record are exempt from disclosure, they have asked for non-exempt portions to be released in redacted form rather than withheld entirely.
The request emphasizes the importance of access to public records for media professionals who aim to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency. As a member of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, Centennial State News has requested a fee waiver based on their role in disseminating information.
Additionally, it is noted that the requester is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy. This organization assists media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies using Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.
