FOIA Request to Trinidad State College regarding public university FY 2024 employee salaries on December 5, 2025.

Centennial State News has submitted a formal request under the Colorado Open Records Act to Trinidad State College. The request seeks comprehensive records detailing employee compensation for all individuals employed by the university during Fiscal Year 2024. The fiscal year is typically defined by many institutions as spanning from September 2024 through July 2025, though the request allows for adjustments based on the university’s official fiscal-year definitions.

The requested records should include various data fields such as fiscal year, employee name, gender, age or year of birth (if not exempt), date of birth (if not exempt or limited to month/year), employer name, title or position, department, hire date, compensation amount (including base pay and any additional pay), compensation type (e.g., salary, hourly, stipend, bonus), and employment type (full-time or part-time). Centennial State News acknowledges that not all fields may be present in every record but requests that all responsive records be produced regardless. If any portion of a record is deemed exempt from disclosure, they ask for non-exempt portions to be released in redacted form rather than withheld entirely.

As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, Centennial State News emphasizes their role in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency. They have requested a fee waiver based on their status as media professionals. The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies using Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
