The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contractor, ACME Concrete Paving Inc., announced on April 7 that all northbound lanes on Colorado Highway 157 (Foothills Parkway) at Pearl Street in Boulder will be closed from Friday evening, April 10, until Sunday evening, April 12. The closure is part of a pavement rehabilitation project involving the removal and replacement of concrete panels.

This full closure is intended to ensure the safety of motorists and workers while reducing the overall duration of construction impacts. According to the announcement, a single-lane closure will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a complete roadway shutdown at 9 p.m. The closure will last through the weekend before reopening Sunday evening.

During this period, northbound drivers will be rerouted off CO 157 at the Pearl Street exit and directed across Pearl Street to re-enter via the CO 157 on-ramp. Both northbound travelers on Foothills Parkway and east-west drivers on Pearl Street should expect delays up to fifteen minutes due to these changes. Southbound lanes will remain open throughout the work.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes during the weekend to avoid congestion in affected areas. Uniformed traffic control officers will assist with traffic flow during construction hours. Motorists are reminded to slow down near work zones and keep a safe distance between vehicles.

According to the official website, Shoshana Lew serves as executive director for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), which oversees transportation infrastructure statewide. More information about this project can be found by visiting COTrip.org or by contacting CDOT through their hotline or email address provided in their announcement.
