Ryan B., a subcontractor from Grand Junction, won $10,000 after playing the $5 Lady Luck Scratch game, according to a March 11 announcement. He purchased the winning ticket at Happy Stop Super Store located at 2714 US-50 in Grand Junction.

The win is significant for Ryan, who said he has been playing the Lottery for about 20 years and prefers Scratch games. This is his first major prize.

Ryan said he plans to use his winnings to pay off bills, support his family, and invest in a new work truck. “Congratulations to Ryan on the $10,000 win—sounds like Lady Luck showed up right on time!” the Colorado Lottery said in its statement.

The Colorado Lottery regularly features stories of winners across the state as part of its efforts to highlight player experiences and encourage responsible play.

Lottery officials say that stories like Ryan’s demonstrate how players can benefit from participating in scratch games while also supporting their families and local communities.
