University of Denver men’s tennis players Ryoma Mishiro and Samuel Rovai were named the Kwik Star Summit League Doubles Peak Team of the Week for the 13th week of the season, according to an April 14 announcement from the Summit League.

The recognition highlights their performance over the weekend, where they secured two doubles victories. The pair won a match against North Dakota on April 11 with a score of 6-2, which clinched Denver’s eighth consecutive doubles point. They followed up with another win in a tiebreaker, finishing 7-4 against Nevada for their seventh straight victory as a doubles team. These wins contributed to Denver securing both dual matches, with final scores of 7-0 and 4-1.

This is not the first time Mishiro and Rovai have received this honor; it marks their second award in three weeks and third overall as a duo. Mishiro now has four career weekly Summit League awards—three earned as part of a doubles team—while Rovai has been honored five times in total, including three alongside Mishiro.

Denver’s men’s tennis players have collectively earned thirteen weekly Summit League awards this year. All six Pioneers who played during the current season have received at least one weekly recognition from the league.

Looking ahead, Denver will conclude its regular season with two away matches in Summit League play: first at Drake on April 17 and then at Omaha on April 19.
