The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office released its activity blotter for April 13 and April 14, detailing law enforcement activities and arrests in the area.
The report provides a summary of incidents handled by deputies, including welfare checks, traffic stops, citations issued, and assistance provided to other agencies. The information offers insight into daily operations and public safety efforts within Montrose County.
On April 13, deputies performed several welfare checks at various locations including Lavender Circle, Mustang Lane, and Highway 50. Multiple traffic stops resulted in verbal warnings or citations for speeding or expired license plates. Notably, Alonzo Wilkes was cited for expired license plates at East Main Street and North Junction Avenue; Juan Nieves-Mendoza received a citation for speeding at East Main Street and Locust Road; Joshua Williams was cited for expired license plates on Chipeta Road; Thomas Watson was cited for speeding on the 10000 Block of 6400 Road.
Deputies also responded to reports of fraud on the 16100 Block of 6400 Road and assisted state patrol with an accident on the 13000 Block of 6100 Road. Erik Heath was arrested on a warrant at mile marker 83 on Highway 50. He also received citations for no proof of insurance, expired license plates, and driving under restraint.
The arrest log includes individuals charged with offenses such as assault (both third degree and second degree), protection order violations, child abuse, domestic violence, harassment, mittimus orders (court-ordered detention), warrant arrests with personal recognizance bond set in some cases or no bond in others. Among those listed are Tanya Westbrook (third degree assault), Jared Lilly (second degree assault), Giovanni Mayer (domestic violence/harassment/no bond), Joshua Tomaske (domestic violence/harassment/protection order violation/no bond), Adan Gonzalez (second degree assault/bond $500), Corey Coolidge (mittimus order) as well as Secundino Vigil who was booked by Montrose Police Department on charges including domestic violence.
During this period deputies performed thirteen civil processes, twenty-six directed patrols throughout the county area to ensure community safety standards were maintained along with six vehicle identification number inspections.
