Northern Colorado men’s golf finished the second round of the Big Sky Conference Championship on April 28 with a total score of 579 (+3), placing them fifth heading into the final round at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
The team’s performance is significant as it keeps Northern Colorado within reach of a higher finish in the championship. With only one round remaining, the Bears have positioned themselves to compete for a top spot among conference rivals.
Kaelen Dulany led Northern Colorado with a second-round score of 69 (-3), moving him into a tie for seventh place individually with an overall score of 143 (-1). Cooper Tate and Thomas Barnes Grimes are tied for twelfth, while Matias Koropeski is tied for sixteenth after shooting a second-round 70 (-2). Tommie Clark completed the scoring lineup and sits tied for twenty-sixth overall. The team saw all counted scores at +2 or better during Tuesday’s play.
The team leaderboard currently shows Sacramento State leading at -16, followed by Idaho at -5 and Weber State at -4. Francis Marion holds fourth place at -1, just ahead of Northern Colorado’s +3 standing. Eastern Washington trails in sixth place with +9.
Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will aim to improve their position during Wednesday’s final round. The Bears hope to climb further up the standings and contend for one of the top finishes in this year’s championship.
