The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and contractor Brannan Sand and Gravel, LLC will begin resurfacing work on the Interstate 70 Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels starting Sunday night, September 14. The project is expected to continue through late October.

According to CDOT, this maintenance effort will require alternating tunnel traffic during overnight hours. Motorists should expect delays of up to 30 minutes while the work is underway in Clear Creek and Summit Counties.

The resurfacing project aims to maintain safe travel conditions along this key stretch of I-70. The Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnels are a critical transportation link for both local commuters and travelers moving between eastern and western Colorado.
