Motorists traveling on US Highway 160 west of Bayfield should prepare for possible delays starting Tuesday, September 9. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced that survey work will take place between Elmore’s Corner (Mile Point 91.8) and Silver Hills Road (MP 97), just west of County Road 223. This project is scheduled to last three weeks, ending on September 26.

According to CDOT, drivers moving between Durango and Bayfield are advised to plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time during the work period. The survey operations will occur Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Crews will try to keep traffic alternating through the work zone, but there may be full stops and lane closures as needed for safety.
