The Powerball jackpot has reached $1.8 billion, with a cash option of $826.4 million, ahead of the drawing scheduled for Saturday, September 6th. This marks the second largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Since mid-August 2025, 15 Colorado residents have won significant prizes from Powerball drawings. On September 3rd, a $1 million ticket was sold at Safeway in Peyton. Other recent winners include a $100,000 prize at King Soopers in Arvada and two $50,000 prizes sold at King Soopers in Castle Rock and Harts Gas and Food in Estes Park.

In previous drawings leading up to this weekend’s event, more Coloradans have claimed large prizes: on September 1st, tickets worth $50,000 and $150,000 were sold at King Soopers in Colorado Springs and Rocket in Englewood respectively; another $50,000 winner was reported from Steamboat Springs. On August 30th, a player won $2 million with a ticket purchased at King Soopers in Parker. Additional notable wins include several prizes of $150,000 each from retailers such as Safeway in Denver and 7-Eleven in Colorado Springs.

Powerball tickets are available for purchase at lottery retailers across the state for $2 per play.

According to the Colorado Lottery, proceeds from ticket sales support local projects including new parks and wildlife protection efforts throughout the state. The organization encourages players to learn more about how lottery funds contribute to maintaining Colorado’s natural resources.

“Every time you play, you’re helping build new parks, protect wildlife, and keep Colorado’s natural beauty thriving for generations. It’s a win for you and Colorado.”
