Rep. Lauren Boebert introduced the Tactical Revitalization and Upgrade of Modern Presidential Ballroom Act, known as the “TRUMP Ballroom Act,” on Apr. 28. The legislation would give congressional authorization for President Trump to design and build a ballroom facility on the grounds of the White House.
The proposal comes after an attempted assassination of President Trump, which highlighted concerns about security during large events held at or near the White House. According to Boebert, “The attempted assassination of President Trump this past weekend has highlighted the need for a space adjacent to White House that the President can host large events without exposing himself to another would-be assassin.” She said she does not believe congressional approval should be necessary but added, “activist judges and leftist dogwalkers have inserted themselves into this renovation at the White House. As a result, I’m proud to introduce the TRUMP Ballroom Act so that we can get this project over the finish line.”
President Donald J. Trump proposed building a new ballroom facility on White House grounds due to what he described as limitations in current event spaces for official functions and diplomatic receptions. The planned venue is intended to provide secure hosting capabilities for major gatherings without requiring travel outside of secure areas.
Legal challenges from activist groups have delayed progress on these renovations, with a recent court decision blocking key aspects of planned updates following opposition from local activists and residents.
Boebert currently serves in Congress representing Colorado’s 3rd district after replacing Scott Tipton in 2021 according to Ballotpedia. She was born in Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1986 and now lives in Silt as reported by Biography.com.
