Former Denver Broncos defensive back Steve Foley was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame on April 16. Foley, who previously entered the Broncos Ring of Fame in 2024, attended the induction banquet with 20 family members and friends.

The recognition highlights Foley’s long-standing impact on football in Colorado and his lasting legacy with the Broncos. He spent his entire 11-year professional career with Denver after being drafted from Tulane in 1975. During that time, he played both cornerback and safety, setting a franchise record with 44 interceptions—a mark that still stands.

Foley said at the event, “It is a tremendous honor not only for me, but also for my family. I’m just humbled. I’m thankful, I’m grateful — and my grandkids actually know now that I did play, by these awards. So, it’s good to be able to celebrate it in front of them.” He added about joining other Broncos legends in the Hall of Fame: “That group of men — it’s some of the greatest men I know. And a lot of them are in the Ring of Fame and in the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. It means a lot to me to go up alongside them.”

During his career with Denver, Foley recorded at least six interceptions during three different seasons and ranked among league leaders multiple times. He was part of the “Orange Crush” defense that helped lead Denver to its first Super Bowl appearance following the 1977 season and later started in Super Bowl XXI.

Reflecting on his induction alongside five other members as part of this year’s class, Foley said: “There’s a lot of great names in here,” adding: “I’m just humbled to be alongside those great names.”
