The Colorado Legislature is set to hold a hearing on election integrity next week.

House Rep. Dave Williams (R-Colorado Springs) tweeted about the hearing, saying that it was being held because many Republicans in the House had asked for one.

“Colorado Legislature to hold official committee hearing on election integrity thanks to the urging of CO House Republicans,” Williams tweeted.

A news release by House Rep. Lori Saine (R-Dacono), joined by Williams and 19 other representatives, says that there have been an increasing number of calls from constituents statewide asking for an audit of the state’s election systems.

It notes that the Legislative Audit Committee will hold a special hearing where they will hear testimony and talk to expert witnesses regarding election integrity during the general election.

“While previous problems such as ballot harvesting have plagued Colorado for several years, new concerns surrounding our election process became more pronounced when voter registration postcards from the Secretary of State’s office were intentionally sent to ineligible individuals,” the news release notes.

A group of state representatives asked for election transparency earlier this week via the creation of a special committee on election integrity. The news release notes that the request was to help answer questions about improperly distributed registration postcards, ballot harvesting and outdated voter rolls, as well as the lack of confidence growing for Dominion Voting Systems.

Saine said in the news release that the issue shouldn’t be a partisan.

“It should not be a partisan issue to ensure that Colorado elections are free, fair, and secure from fraud,” Saine said in the news release. “It is our duty as elected representatives of the people to put to rest any doubt the public may have concerning the integrity of our elections.”

Saine said there are legitimate questions that have been raised statewide regarding the election.

Texas filed a suit with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the votes in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The lawsuit argues that the states treated certain voters differently than others and there were multiple voting irregularities in each state. Other states have joined in support of the suit.
