Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), a first-time congresswoman, was welcomed to the 117th Congress by Rep. Andy Biggs on his podcast as he discussed with her the current committees she is a part of and the issues she would want to work on.

Boebert is currently a member of the House Natural Resources Committee and Budget Committee.

She ran for office because she said she was fed up with “politicians promising to do things with our district, with our land, with our energy and not ever holding up their end of the bargain.” Hence, she is excited to work on the issues related to these, including getting people employed.

“The men and women who know how to extract these resources from the earth can get back to work, creating high-paying jobs, for the district, for the state, and for our country,” she said. “We have the Jordan Cove pipeline, I want to be in the frontlines talking about this, making sure this pipeline gets built so we can export our clean liquified natural gas, globally.”

As a business owner herself, she is also happy to have become part of the Budget Committee because “this touches every part of the government and I want to be a voice and influence there and to bring awareness that the government doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem.”

Boebert also mentioned that the $15 minimum wage per hour is not a relief to small businesses.

“I really wish someone would hide the box of pens from President Biden for just a little while for these executive orders,” she said.

Boebert is also the owner of Shooters Grill in Rifle Colorado, where staff can carry loaded guns while serving customers, and she is proud to be a voice of the Second Amendment.
