Fort Collins Police Services praised the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force (NCDTF) for conducting an operation that resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle, the seizure of methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl and the arrests of multiple individuals.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that on Oct. 12, the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force worked with local agencies "to conduct a criminal and narcotics interdiction event in an attempt to curb drug distribution and address public safety issues over 40 law enforcement officers cooperated in this effort." One person was arrested with more than half of a pound of methamphetamine, as well as drug distribution equipment.
"Another outstanding effort by our Northern Colorado Drug Task Force! Removing dangerous drugs from our community and surrounding areas is important for the safety of everyone," Fort Collins Police Services said in a post to its official Facebook account. "We appreciate the dedication and ongoing work of NCDTF and our regional law enforcement partners to stop the harm caused by drugs and the crimes associated with illegal distribution."
Law enforcement also issued statements on the matter.
"We believe this operation is a strong example of the cooperation that exists in the Northern Colorado law enforcement community," a statement from the Larimer County Sherriff's Office said. "From seizing distribution quantities of illegal narcotics to making our streets safer through traffic enforcement, many agencies partnered together to make a positive impact on public safety."
Six people were arrested on outstanding warrants. Another person was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl, in addition to further drug paraphernalia. One person was arrested for driving with a revoked license, and another was arrested for a suspected DUI.
Authorities also found a stolen vehicle. The Northern Colorado Drug Task Force is made up of representatives from the Fort Collins Police Services, the Loveland Police Department, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, the Windsor Police Department, the Colorado Adult Parole, the Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Agency. The organization's aim is to discover and investigate drug crimes and criminals, mainly in Larimer County.
