Grand Junction Police officers arrested a nurse in connection with a sexual assault investigation at St. Mary's Hospital last month.
Christopher Lambros, a 61-year-old nurse, was arrested on Oct. 25 and was immediately booked on three counts of sexual assault.
"Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department have made an arrest in a sex assault case which occurred at St. Mary’s Hospital," the Grand Junction Police Department tweeted.
According to Grand Junction Police, the arrest was the product of a months-long investigation upon receiving a report of Lambros allegedly assaulting hospital patients. The report was received in July and the investigation continued until the day of the arrest.
"What this former nurse is accused of is reprehensible and goes against everything we believe and value at St. Mary's Medical Center," Bryan Johnson, the hospital's president said in a statement, 9News reported.
Lambros' employment was terminated the day he was arrested by SCL Health, the owners of St. Mary's. It further states that prior to his arrest, he was already put on administrative leave and had no access to patients or the facility.
The arrest document states that on July 9, a witness reported seeing Lambros with an unconscious female patient in a room with the curtains drawn. The covers were pulled back, and it looked like Lambros was taking a picture with the patient who was completely naked.
Police officers made contact with Lambros, now being held on a $250,000 cash bond, on a traffic stop near 27 ¼ Road and H Road, according to KKCO 11 News.
