Democrat Jared Polis shares a selfie during his oath-taking as Governor of Colorado for the 2nd term.
Polis tweeted a photograph of himself as he readies for another go as Colorado's governor.
"I just took the oath of office to serve a second term as Governor of Colorado, " Polis tweeted.
Polis faced a crowded field in November, with contenders like Heidi Ganahl, Kevin Ruskusky, Danielle Neuschwanger, and Paul Nol Fiorino. Polis received 58.53 percent of the vote versus his closest challenger, Ganahl's 39.18 percent, according to Colorado Public Radio.
Polis' official biography noted he is "an entrepreneur, education leader, public servant, and native Coloradan." Before becoming Colorado's governor for the first time, he served on the state board of education and as the representative for the state's second congressional district.
Dianne Primavera, who ran for lieutenant governor alongside Polis and won in 2018, was elected with him. In November of 2022, she won re-election. In 2006, Primavera became the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado, a position she has held ever since. As Lieutenant Governor, she oversees six departments, including the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, the Office of eHealth Innovation, the Colorado Disability Funding Commission and Disability Policy, the Colorado Commission on Indian Affairs, Serve Colorado and the Aerospace and Defense Department.
