Ahead of Governor Polis' State of the State address, NFIB State Director Michael Smith has called on lawmakers to focus on improving Colorado's economy.

"As lawmakers convene in Denver, small businesses across the state are shouldering higher costs, bureaucratic red tape, and a heavy tax burden," said Smith. He noted that while last year saw a reduction in Coloradans' property tax bill by the Legislature, more actions are necessary.

Smith emphasized that "our members are asking the legislature to reject costly mandates, cut spending, and protect taxpayers’ dollars." He further stated that assisting small businesses is beneficial for all of Colorado. NFIB intends to continue collaborating with legislators to facilitate business operations in the Centennial State.
