Following a call by Governor Jared Polis for a special session to address property taxes, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) State Director Tony Gagliardi has expressed support for a compromise agreement aimed at lowering these taxes.
Gagliardi stated, "For far too long, Coloradans have watched their property taxes skyrocket. These increases, on top of rising inflation, are unsustainable for hardworking families and job creators alike." He further emphasized that the agreement would provide small business owners with more predictability in the property tax system while offering necessary relief.
The proposed changes aim to cut property taxes and reduce state spending. Gagliardi described this move as "an important first step to reining in Colorado’s property taxes."
The effort comes amidst growing concerns about the financial burden placed on families and businesses due to escalating property tax rates in Colorado.
