During a four-day special session at the end of August, Colorado lawmakers approved House Bill 24B-1001, a bipartisan compromise aimed at reducing property taxes. The bill proposes cutting property tax rates and capping annual increases without affecting Taxpayer Bill of Rights refunds.

"Colorado taxpayers need greater predictability in our property tax system," NFIB State Director Tony Gagliardi stated. "This was an important first step in reining in Colorado’s property taxes."

Governor Polis signed the agreement passed by the General Assembly on Wednesday, September 4.
