On July 10, NFIB Colorado organized a virtual event featuring State Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer. The session provided small business owners with insights into state and federal issues, offering them a platform to express concerns and ask questions.

Senator Kirkmeyer addressed the economic impact of energy regulations among other topics. She shared her perspective as a former small business owner, saying, “I used to be a small business owner myself. I greatly appreciate all you do for our economy and what you do for our workforce and families throughout the state of Colorado. I know it’s been a pretty tough go of it the past few years, some of the laws that have been passed down here that increase regulations, that increase fees, that type of thing to your businesses. […] You’re the backbone of our economy here in the state of Colorado, and we’ve got to make sure that you are able to succeed.”

The discussion covered several key areas including energy regulations, TABOR (Taxpayer's Bill of Rights), Small Business Deduction, and Beneficial Ownership Regulation.

For those interested in viewing the virtual event or having additional questions about issues impacting their business from this session, NFIB encourages reaching out to State Director Tony Gagliardi. Those wanting more involvement with NFIB can contact Grassroots Manager ML McGinty.
