Colorado's National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has voiced its opposition to Senate Bill 5, which aims to alter the Labor Peace Act. The organization believes that the bill could negatively impact the longstanding provisions that have been in place for over eight decades.

NFIB State Director Michael Smith stated, "For more than 80 years, hardworking Coloradans have benefitted from the Labor Peace Act." He emphasized that the act requires significant worker support before union agreements are implemented, ensuring workers' opinions are considered. Smith expressed concern that "by eliminating the second union vote, Senate Bill 5 disrupts the balance between employers, employees, and labor union bosses."

As Senate Bill 5 moves through the legislative process, NFIB intends to continue advocating for Colorado's small business owners and their employees.
