Marcus C., a resident of Montrose, recently claimed a $50,000 prize from the Powerball lottery. The win came as a surprise to his family, who only learned about the amount when Marcus revealed it during a trip to Grand Junction. He kept the details secret until they saw him holding the oversized check.

Marcus is an occasional lottery player, purchasing tickets a few times each month. His winning ticket was bought at Blair’s Truckstop in Montrose. Upon realizing he had won, Marcus's initial reaction was disbelief: “Wow! Is this real??”

Employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Marcus has clear plans for his winnings. He intends to invest part of the money and also indulge in buying a hot tub.
