On September 19, 2025, law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at an apartment in Craig, Colorado. The operation was carried out by the All Crimes Enforcement Team (ACET), with support from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, Craig Police Department, and the Special Response Team. The warrant followed an ACET investigation into suspected illegal drug distribution at 1225 West 6th St, Apartment B25.
During the search, officers arrested Dustin Hyatt, age 48, and Tanya Vallejos, age 46. Both face charges related to the illegal distribution of methamphetamine. Because of the amount of methamphetamine found during the search, both individuals are charged with Class 1 Drug Felonies under Colorado law.
In addition to drug charges, Hyatt faces further allegations due to his status as a previously convicted felon. Officers recovered a rifle and three handguns from the apartment. As a result, Hyatt is also charged with possession of weapons by a previous offender. His bond was set at $100,000 during a hearing on September 24.
Hyatt has prior criminal history in the area. Earlier this year on March 20, he was arrested after an ACET investigation revealed he had taken multiple voyeuristic photographs in a public restroom. Investigators determined that Hyatt placed his phone in the women’s restroom of Jimmy John’s restaurant in Steamboat Springs on several occasions throughout 2024 and captured images of dozens of victims.
The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office and its partner agencies have stated their ongoing commitment to enforcing state drug laws and encourage residents to report any suspected drug activity to local authorities.
“The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office continues relentless pursuit of criminal activity in our community.”
Authorities emphasized that all charges listed are allegations at this stage and that defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
