A Texas man has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the unlawful dealing of anti-materiel rifles, according to an announcement from the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Filiberto Walle, 24, of Edinburgh, Texas, admitted guilt to one count of conspiracy to engage in the business of dealing firearms without a license and one count of engaging in the business of dealing firearms without a license.
Court documents state that between August 1 and September 30, 2023, Walle acquired .50 BMG caliber rifles from licensed dealers in Colorado. He then unlawfully distributed these weapons in Texas and other locations. These rifles are designed for use against military equipment and structures. Walle worked with others to hide his identity as the true purchaser by arranging straw transfers. In these transactions, third parties completed background checks and took possession of the firearms before handing them over to Walle.
The investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) also resulted in convictions for several individuals who assisted Walle:
Mohamed Savane was convicted of conspiracy to engage in unlicensed firearm dealing.
Malcolm Johnson was convicted for making a false statement during a firearm purchase.
Adrian Cervantes was convicted for making a false statement during a firearm purchase.
Torien Pryor-Parson was convicted on charges including conspiracy to make false statements during firearm purchases and retaliation against a witness or informant.
United States District Judge Charlotte N. Sweeney presided over the hearing. Sentencing is scheduled for January 30, 2026.
