Next week, drivers on Colorado Highway 7 (Arapahoe Avenue) in Boulder will see a change in traffic patterns as construction crews shift all traffic to the eastbound lanes between Foothills Parkway and Range Street. The new one-lane configuration in each direction is intended to allow safe completion of work on the westbound lanes. This setup is expected to remain until September 22.

Access to local businesses along the route will stay open during this period. Pedestrians are advised to use posted detour routes for safety around the construction area.

From Friday, September 19 at 5 p.m. through Monday, September 22 at 5 a.m., the north intersection of CO 7 and 48th Street will be closed for milling and paving operations. A detour will be provided to maintain access to 48th Street, and this closure will last throughout the weekend.

Detour information for reaching Boulder Community Health has been included in the traffic impact notices released by officials.

“Access to local businesses will remain open throughout construction, and pedestrians are advised to follow posted detour routes for safe navigation around the work zone.”

“A detour will be in place to maintain access to 48th Street. This traffic configuration will remain in effect throughout the weekend.”
