Catholic Vote President Brian Burch supported the Colorado bakery Masterpiece Cakeshop which is now being harassed by leftist crowds despite a Supreme Court ruling that determined the business owner was not at fault for not accepting an order that went against his beliefs.

"The persecution of Jack Phillips and his Masterpiece Cakeshop continues to backfire on the LGBTQ-whatever crowd,” Burch said. “Even losing at the U.S. Supreme Court in a case regarding the request for a cake celebrating same-sex 'marriage' does not deter them from sending yet another group of morally confused people to sue Phillips for exercising his free speech rights."

Eighteen radical left-wing state attorneys general, including New York's Letita James, have asked the Colorado Supreme Court to uphold a lower court decision that ruled in favor of a left-wing activist group and against Masterpiece Cakeshop's Jack Phillips. James is now famous for concocting a victimless crime that President Donald Trump has been convicted of and has appealed.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys are representing Phillips, and 23 states, and many free-speech advocates have filed friend-of-the-court briefs with the court in support of Phillips. ADF Senior Counsel Jack Warner explained that "no one should be compelled to express ideas and messages they don’t believe.” This time the cake artist denied a request to create a cake that would help celebrate a "gender transition." Another request that was denied was to make a cake depicting Satan smoking marijuana. Other requests have included cakes that would depict sexual acts.

The ADF brief states that “Phillips has suffered enough,” and "this crusade against Phillips should stop.”

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
