A Colorado State University student died in a dorm in Fort Collins over the weekend.

The student has not been identified, and the cause of death is not yet known. The Coloradoan quotes University Spokesperson Dell Rae Ciaravola in saying that the Larimer County Coroner’s Office will release the student's name, manner and cause of death at a later date.

"The university community is deeply saddened by this loss and we send our heartfelt condolences to the student’s family and friends,” Ciarvola said.

First responders came to Durward Hall early Sunday morning when a student was in the midst of a medical issue. KDVR notes that paramedics were not successful in their efforts to resuscitate the student.

Durward Hall is one of two 12-story residence halls known as "The Towers." It houses 400 students in double and quad rooms
