Homecoming and Family Weekend had a new look to it at Colorado State University this year.
According to the school’s website, among the new events that were a part of the three-day extravaganza running from Oct. 13-15 was a new kickoff event at Canvas Stadium. The New Belgium Porch was the place to be on Oct. 13, with food trucks lining the area, along with an assortment of on-field photo opportunities and a cash bar. The Festival on the Oval also added a few new wrinkles, with more than 60 booths for individuals to experience various campus unites and community partners. The CSU Logging Sports Team, Collar Scholars and their service dogs and other groups also offered interactive engagement opportunities.
“This celebration was created with the campus community in mind,” Director of Alumni Marketing and Communications Amy Miller said. “We wanted students, faculty and staff to have something special and fun to kick off the long weekend of time-honored traditions and new offerings.”
According to Rocky Mountain Collegian, student Reed Vega, who serves as director of traditions and programs for the Associated Students of CSU, also headed a student tailgate.
The full schedule of events and details were posted on the school's website.
