The city of Aurora announced on Twitter the route and time modifications for Regional Transportation District bus and rail lines for 2023.

The city tweeted that on several of its bus and rail routes, RTD is recommending route and timetable adjustments for 2023. To get feedback from the public, three virtual public hearings are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

"RTD is proposing route and schedule changes on several of its bus and rail lines for 2023 and is planning three virtual public meetings Sept. 26 and 27 to hear public input ..." the tweet reads.

In addition to supporting RTD's System Optimization Plan, which aims to expand ridership and satisfy shifting travel demands while enhancing service performance, efficiency and quality, RTD is proposing service improvements for January 2023 to improve service dependability and on-time performance, according to RTD.

Routes 10, 11, 12, 15, 15L, 21, 24, 30, 42, 44, 83D, 83L, 88, 93L, 120L, 130, 228 and Route AT will all be affected by these modifications, in addition to Bolt and RX. Many of these modifications are intended to boost on-time performance. There will be no discontinuation of service on any of these routes.

Examples of changes include a plan to extend service east to Aurora Plaza (Del Mar Circle) at a 60-minute frequency, which is anticipated to go into effect on Jan. 8, 2023. Due to a lack of available resources, this suggested modification only includes the first stage of implementing Route 10 as it is outlined in RTD's System Optimization Plan.

Another suggestion is to divide Route 12 into the old Route 7 and Route 12, with the northern section functioning as Route 7 between the 38th Blake and Northglenn 112th rail stations, and the southern portion operating as Route 12 between the Englewood and 38th Blake stations.
