The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) recently supported the Colorado Ranch and Farm Tours 2022.
With the theme "Bridging the Urban-Rural Divide," the event was in collaboration with the Regenerative Recovery Coalition and The Alliance Center.
"The Regenerative Recovery Coalition and @thealliancecntr want you to experience farms using regenerative ag practices like #holisticlandmanagement and #soilhealth firsthand. Sign up to visit four farms across Denver and Longmont on Sept 25 here," CDA tweeted.
The event intended to give tour participants firsthand experience and learning about farming utilizing regenerative agriculture methods such as holistic land management and soil health.
"Experience regenerative agriculture in action!" an Eventbrite invitation stated. "In just one day, visit four farms across Denver and Longmont: Altius, Frontline, Elk Run and Yellow Barn. Participants will learn more about the history and importance of regenerative agriculture, how to support local producers and explore opportunities to heal the urban rural divide through stronger social bonds. Lunch and transportation between Denver and Longmont will be provided. The day will end with a celebration of regenerative agriculture at Yellow Barn Farm!"
The Alliance Center in downtown Denver is a mission-driven coworking space, event venue and environmental nonprofit. The building, which was built in 1908, now serves as a green events venue, co-working space and Living Lab for testing sustainable construction ideas.
The Regenerative Coalition was formed under The Alliance Center. It is "a collaboration of nonprofits, businesses, academic institutions, government agencies and individuals boldly working together toward this future," according to its website.
